Other State Provisions & Exemptions
- North Dakota offers an annual pass that allows for GVWs of 105,500 lbs on non-Interstate highways.
- Tridems must follow the Federal Bridge Formula when traveling on the Interstate System, but North Dakota allows 48,000 lbs for tridems on non-Interstate highways.
- Weight should not exceed 550 lbs per inch of tire width for non-steering axles, no more than 10,000 lbs on a single tire.
- Vehicles with idle reduction technology are permitted axle, vehicle, or bridge formula weights of up to 400 lbs over the limit.
