22,400 lbs on the Interstate System and non-Interstate highways for three-axle vehicles and others with axle spacing of 10 ft or more, if the GVW is 73,280 lbs or below

Tandem Axle

34,000 lbs on the Interstate System for vehicles with a GVW of more than 73,280 lbs

36,000 lbs on the Interstate System and non-Interstate highways for vehicles with a GVW of 73,280 lbs and below

Other State Provisions & Exemptions

New Hampshire offers an annual permit that allows vehicles to have GVWs of 99,000 lbs on non-Interstate highways.
The state allows for a 5% GWV tolerance and 10% axle weight tolerance on non-Interstate, but GVW should not exceed 80,000 lbs.
Vehicles with idle reduction technology are permitted axle, vehicle, or bridge formula weights of up to 400 lbs over the limit.
