Other State Provisions & Exemptions
- Combinations hauling divisible loads can have a GVW of up to 131,060 lbs provided they have proper axle distancing and meet the Federal Bridge Formula.
- Transport companies complying with the Montana/Alberta Memorandum of Understanding are permitted a GVW of up to 137,800 lbs in a B-Train configuration on the I-15 stretch between Shelby, Montana, and the Canadian border.
- Non-steering axle weight should not exceed 500 lbs per inch of tire width.
- Vehicles with idle reduction technology are permitted axle, vehicle, or bridge formula weights of up to 400 lbs over the limit.
